We are pleased to present the comprehensive report on our Diabetes Sensitization and Screening program, organized by the Lagos Metropolitan Lions Club on December 23rd, 2023, at the Oba of Oworonshoki Palace. This initiative was a resounding success, thanks to your generous support.

  • Special Guest: The Oloworo II of Oworonshoki Kingdom, Supreme Ruler of Kosofe and Environ, represented by the Olori of Oworonshoki Kingdom.
  • Objective: To raise awareness about diabetes, provide free screenings, and educate the community on diabetes management and lifestyle modifications.

 

Activities and Achievements:

  • Community Outreach: Extensive efforts were made to publicize the program through flyers, local communication channels, and collaboration with community leaders.
  • Sensitization Talks: Informative talks on diabetes, its causes, symptoms, and preventive measures were delivered by members of the Lagos Metropolitan Lions Club.
  • Screening: Over 500 individuals, especially the elderly, received free diabetes screenings, including blood sugar level, blood pressure, and BMI measurements.
  • Educational Workshops: Workshops provided information on healthy eating, physical activity, and the importance of regular medical check-ups, including a Q&A session.
  • Counseling: Personalized counseling sessions were provided to individuals identified as at risk or diagnosed with diabetes.
